Extinguishing the Christian Myth

What is the Christian Myth?

There are many aspects and variations of the Christian Myth, but two of the most important tenets of Christian belief are one, Jesus Christ died and was brought back to life by the will of his heavenly Father and two, Jesus Christ is set to return some time in the future, incredibly coming down from the sky to establish, with his believers, a place known simply as paradise. These two aspects of the Christian myth are the cornerstone of their faith, if you believe in Christianity, this is what you are expected to subscribe to.

Many Christians today refuse to subscribe to many other myths of Christianity, including the ones that are found in the Old Testament; for example, that the world was created in six days or that the world is merely five or six thousand years old. These free thinking Christians, perhaps in the light of carbon dating, geology, biology and geography have chosen to divorce their Christian beliefs from the stories of Genesis, but a Christian will never, can never, refuse to believe in the resurrection and return of Jesus Christ.

Non-Believing ‘Christians’

What about the ‘Christians’ that don’t believe in the resurrection and the return of Jesus Christ? First and foremost, their beliefs are rejected by the entire Christian community; they are generally labeled as frauds or even worse New-Age Christians. Quite simply they are not Christians, without the resurrection and the return of Jesus Christ the Christian myth dies, it merely becomes another philosophy, with plenty of good and bad points, some nice stories and enduring parables, all boxed up with a pleasant self-sacrificing figurehead to aspire to.

Is It Necessary to Extinguish the Christian Myth?

Extinguishing the Christian Myth is totally unnecessary and entirely voluntary, each person whether they know it or not, is a sovereign being and therefore entitled to believe whatever they wish. Notwithstanding this, if the world was able to successfully extinguish the Christian myth, the world would not necessarily be a better place but it would certainly be a more mature and evolved place.

Why Should We Extinguish the Christian Myth?

The Christian myth is an embarrassing legacy of a time when superstition and the Church ruled the world, when equality and education was of little importance, when science was scorned upon, and when poverty and malnutrition was viewed as an admirable disposition. When superstition and the power of the Church started to decline during The Enlightenment, people in the world started to look beyond their local Priest for spiritual guidance, and started to scrutinize the adopted myths that society had long held on to.

The Christian myth, in today’s liberating light filled day, a day where science continues to explain so many great mysteries, where children in so many countries enjoy the benefits of a free education, where so many women now have freedom of choice, where so many men and women of the world enjoy so many every day freedoms; men and women are now entitled to choose between reality and the delusion of the Christian myth. A man and a woman can now confidently state, without fear of prosecution or prejudice that a human is not capable of resurrection. Similarly, that a man is not capable of flying down from the sky or heavens to impart some type of heavenly justice.

Christians will tell you that Jesus Christ is no ordinary man, he is God’s son and therefore capable of a supernatural resurrection and an even more supernatural heavenly return. And this is the great and popular delusion of Christianity. The aforementioned proposal is laughable and should be confined to children’s fairy tale books or even Hollywood studios, but the shear number of people that believe in this myth, apparently two billion people at the moment, ensures its unremitting existence.

Adults Acting Like Chidlren

When an independent human being makes their way from childhood to adulthood, we receive invitations to relinquish long-held presumptions about the world, some of the most regrettable ones are fairy tales. Giving up on fantasies such as Santa Claus and the tooth fairy can be a very disappointing thud back to earth for a growing child, giving up innocent childish ideals can also be very difficult for the maturing young adult and learning personal responsibility can be a lifelong adventure for so many adults, yet each adult has a deep-down desire to grow and evolve as a human being. However for so many adults, this desire is not strong enough to reject the Christian myth of Jesus Christ.

What Do We Have To Gain?

By rejecting the age old Christian Myth, we will in so many ways be saying yes to humanity, humanity’s today and humanity’s future. How can I be so sure of this? Because the Christian Myth puts everything on hold, including life and living. When man and woman are merely participating in a test for some future paradise, when the world is viewed as a mere testing ground to separate Christ’s supplicants from unbelievers, the world gets put on hold. Our inherent need for progress is replaced with cautionary fear, the joy and pleasure of life is replaced with sin and guilt, life and the world become a secondary concern and we tend to treat it as such.

It’s not easy to reject something that is so popular, so simple and seemingly rewarding, but as a human being you will benefit in so many ways. I’m not saying that there is nothing on the other side of death, all I am saying is that there is no evidence of it to warrant worrying about it, and that no story about a man who has come back to life and is planning on returning convinces me otherwise. This is just one of the invitations that you are destined to receive as an adult human being, I hope that you treat it with the same lucid and discerning attitude that you used when you decided to stop believing in Santa Claus.

The Flower and The Bee

In a new age world where we are told that we are all beautiful creatures, desirable to all and sundry...I'm afraid it is simply not the case...mere mammals are we and the game of attract and attracted is what I like to call the flower and the bee.

The flower and the bee is the supposedly complicated dance that we male and female humans play in order to socialize together in couples. But quite simply and whether you want to admit it or not, one person in your couple is a flower and the other is a bee.

The upper and lower hand flower and bee relationship has nothing to do with education, intelligence or wisdom, it is all based on physical attraction, one partner is a beautiful flower in the relationship and the other is the bee attracted to the flower.

Only when we let go of all the niceties and political corrections of this world can we truly see that it is the game of the flower and the bee that keeps this world re-generating, generation after generation.

And it is not a simple case that the female is the flower and the male is the bee, everyone that has had more than a few relationships can tell you what it is like to be the flower and what its like to be the bee.

To understand who the flower and bee of all our relationships are, you need to go all the way back to your first meeting with your partner, who was chasing; desperate to see the other person and who was watching and waiting.

When you establish who was the original flower and the original bee, your relationship should return to the original attraction of that original meeting; the position that each of you took at that meeting can change in your minds but never in reality.

What happens when a bee starts acting like a flower and a flower starts acting like a bee? Quite simply, the balance of nature is thrown out, and neither person will be truly happy until it is restored to its rightful order.

When a bee starts acting like the flower, the flower understandably gets very upset, it is not his or her ego, it is simply the personality of their petals, in this world with this particular partner she or he is the attractor; it is not his or her fault, just nature.

A bee starts acting like a flower for many reasons, including higher intelligence, better work opportunities, even a higher level of self esteem but he or she will always be a bee in his or her current relationship and until he or she starts remembering that and behaving as a bee, he or she and the relationship will never work properly.

As you can imagine it is hard for the bee, to look in the mirror one day and face the reality that he or she was never the flower in their relationship. That against all the new age ideas of equality and balance, their position is one of attraction not attractive.

Don't be confused, this little bee may be the flower in hundreds of relationships that he or she may have, but in their current one they are the bee. And for their current relationship to succeed they must start to act like one or buzz off somewhere else hoping to be a flower.

In this world, there are many confused little bees out there that return from the beauty salon thinking they are beautiful little flowers, and they are to many, but to their current partner they will always be a bee, and I'm afraid at this point in time in their life, that's all that matters.

Flowers on the other hand are never confused; they are merely waiting, waiting to be treated properly, as a flower. A flower will put up with a confused little bee for a very long time, but they will not be truly happy until the bee starts to act like a bee again.

So what makes a happy bee and a happy flower? It is very simple, the bee must continue to assure the flower that his or her partner is the flower in their relationship; he or she can do this with either words or actions. And as with any great truth in this world, the words or actions should come surprisingly easy for the bee.

This is one truth that will not save the world, yet it keeps the world turning over, it will not bring world peace, but it will bring peace to your world, it will not fix all the relationships in the world, but it may mend a very important fundamental imbalance in yours.
